Dock in the water with coverings for boats

Your Bay, Your Way

You bought a bay property for a reason. With a bay dock, your crew gets easy access to the water for morning fishing, afternoon swims, evening drinks while the waves roll in, and everything in between.

With a modular dock system, you're not hiring contractors or waiting weeks for a custom build. You're choosing a setup that fits your shoreline, assembling it yourself, and using it that same weekend.

Our modular dock systems are designed to meet your bay area needs and change right along with them.

Our Dock Types

Floating Docks

Ideal for ponds with soft or uneven bottoms, fluctuating water levels, or deeper sections because they float on the water’s surface. No posts required.

Stationary Docks

Anchor directly into the pond bed for a fixed, stable platform. A great choice for ponds with firm bottoms and consistent water levels. Set it up and forget about it.

Build a Bay Dock That Works for You

With different options for layout, decking, and accessories, you can easily build the best dock for your bay. Add a swim platform for the kids. Tie up the boat. Set up chairs and beach towels and stay out until the sun drops behind the water.

For layouts, choose between straight, L-shaped, or T-shaped based on the amount of dock space you need. Boaters looking for slip space often go with an L or T shape. Plenty of room to secure your boat and still have space to hang out.

For the decking, we have cedar, composite, and aluminum options. Then, add the items you need: ladders, cleats, bumpers, gangways. Every Tommy Docks product connects seamlessly and can be swapped out or expanded later. It's your dock. Set it up however works for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Think about how you'll actually use it. A shorter straight dock handles fishing and swimming just fine. If you're tying up a boat and want room for chairs too, go longer or add an L-shape. Our team can help you figure out the right fit for your bay.

Bays with tidal shifts or regular wave action pair well with floating docks since they handle the movement naturally. Stationary docks work better in calmer, shallower bay areas where water levels stay consistent. Not sure which fits your situation? Call us and we'll walk through it.

Cedar has that classic look and stays cool in the sun. Composite handles moisture without much upkeep. Aluminum is light and tough as they come. All three hold up well on bay docks. It just depends on your preference and how much maintenance you want to deal with.

Absolutely. Our modular systems are made for DIY assembly. No special tools, no cutting, no outside help needed. Most boaters and bay property owners get their dock in the water over a single weekend.

It depends on where you are. Most bay areas and marinas have their own regulations, so check with your local authorities before you start. We can help point you in the right direction if you're not sure who to contact.

That's up to how you'll use your dock. Boaters typically grab cleats and bumpers first. Swimmers like having a ladder. If your bay dock connects to a steep bank or beach, a gangway makes a nice addition. These amenities make your dock safer and easier to use, so start simple and add on as you go.
